Though Harry Houdini died nearly a century ago, his mystique has never faded. Here at the Houdini Society we are dedicated to honouring the life and death of this extraordinary magician.

The lay person may not be aware that Houdini died on the 31st October (1926). Before he died, he made a pact that he would contact his wife, Bess from beyond the grave. They even agreed upon a phrase that he would tell her so she would know it was really him speaking to her and not an imposter.

Bess held a seance every year for 10 years on the anniversary of his death and established 8 separate and 'strong connections'

The members of our society also hold an annual seance on October 31st. We have experienced many powerful and often troubling sessions, and we would urge the general public to never attempt to 'connect' with Houdini's spirit in this way.

Applicantions for membership of the society are considered on a case-by-case basis.
